2007 dodge 5.7 hemi threw a rod

Asked by miketooke Jun 25, 2011 at 10:22 AM about the 2007 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2007 dodge 1500 has 79000 miles on it and has been well taken care of. Regular oil changes and maintainance done periodically. I was driving the truck 3 weeks ago when all the sudden it started to shake the tach ran up to over 5000 rpms then just shut off. I loaded it on a trailer took it to the Dodge dealership to find out whats wrong with it. After a diagnostic test they informed me that it has throwed a rod through the side of the bloke. I want to know if anyone else has had this problem and why it would do that with only 79000 miles on it !?

The only reason it would do that with so few miles is because it was a defective par

I recently was informed that I threw a rod in my 2007 5.7 Liter v8 1500 quad cab Laramie package with 59,000 miles resulting in a complete engine loss. All service work has been completed by dodge. I am so frustrated with dodge. I am going to contact corporate. I purchased the vehicle new with only 8 miles on the engine.
