What is parameter lighting?

The term is Perimeter lighting. They are just additional lights mounted alongside headlights/running lights. They would be a part of a trim package, some models have them, some don't, some models can control their operation through the DIC (Driver Information Center). A manual for your vehicle would cover this, if you don't have one, try a Chevrolet forum for a source for one.
