Car wouldn't start. Loose battery cable. Tightened cable and then key was stuck. Now key won't turn in ignition. Battery power good- lights come on and doorbell sounds but key won't turn. Please help

Tried everything I could find online for the last 2 days. Finally, on a fluke, the key turned and car started. Then it froze again. And now, it is starting again. Thanks for your info- will keep it in mind. I am going to trade this car in as soon as I can. It has had a lot of issues.
