I have a 2006 Monte Carlo, I can turn on my car and drive but a symbol comes up with a car and a lock on the car and it doesn't let me pull the key out some times, what is wrong?

It's theft-deterrent system light. I looked in the owners manual and it show that light on Chapter 3 Page 37, which directs to Chapter 2 Page 15 for an explanation of what it is, how to arm or dis-arm. I have a 2005 Monte Carlo. Before I turn off my car I turn off the blower (air/heat) before I exit my car. The other day when I got in my car the blower was going full blast and nobody uses my car but me. After I shut my car off and removed the key the blower continued to run and now my battery is dead.
