I have a 2006 VW bug . Told that CV joints had to replaced. Done. Now am being told that the front right tire bearing needs to be replaced ...immediately after CV joint work. Damage done by dealer?

Possibly,a good mechanic would have checked the bearing to see if good before replacing the axel,or damaged it why replacing it.

What was your original complaint? Wheel bearings typically make a droning sound that varies with speed. CV joints typically make a tapping or clicking sound.
