Drivers side door will not open

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just replaced the lock / latch mech. on my 2006 Beetle Convertible. Door opens fine until I lock the car using the remote. The driver door will not open when I unlock using the remote. I can put the windows down using the key and reach in and open the door then it will open until I lock again. What have I done wrong? All of my original problems were solved when I changed the lock / latch mech..

I removed the latch assy. again and found the small cable that attached to the lock mech. was not seated properly. Works great after I reinstalled.
