where do you plug in the service tachometer

Hello avalos476-- You hook it to a ground and to the terminal of the coil going to the distributor. A couple of good links give you more information- http://www.custompistols.com/cars/articles/ignition_timing.htm and http://www.vw-resource.com/tune-up.html. Good luck from Bovan.
