it might have had low oil and the filter if it was fram they have a bad anti drainback valve and it might have not been on all the way backfiring iis either a misfire or you have gas in you oil which is caused by flooding which might have occurred by the way it sounded when it was starting

It drained out about 3 quarts of oil while I had it on before I turned it off
