2001 Durango won't re-start after shutting it off

Hi! My 2001 Durango starts perfectly but, when I shut it off and try to re-start it
right-a-way, it won't start. I have to wait at least half an hour and it starts
perfectly. The battery is great, poles and terminals cleaned. It was diagnosed
as: "Neutral switch failure", but I have my doubts. What do you guys think?

A neutral safety switch wouldn't wait an hour then work perfectly. I suspect you have a problem with fuel delivery, and the culprit may be the coolant temperature sensor or cylinder head temperature sensor. It helps the Engine's computer determine how much fuel to deliver.

it could be the neutral safety switch as it runs very close to the exhaust on these models and based on heat/cooling it could very easily go from working to not working. fuel delivery can be checked easily as well if you hear the pump working then depress the schrader valve on the fuel rail to check for fuel. coolant temp sensor doesn't affect starting on these vehicles and there inst a cylinder head temp sensor on these models either.
