ratteling tin sound under car

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

traveling at any speed above 20 mph. her a.  tin rattling sound only when
Temporary speed up. To next level then  the noise stops inspected
Ecsaust pipes and catalog protection cover.  Nothing loose.

Could be a lose bolt/rock fallen into your exhaust pipe or muffler. But then again, I would check the mounting bracket/flange to see if the muffler has pulled away from this mounting area. If this occurred.. the mufflers weld point, could have pulled away from this mounting point and tap on the side of the vehicle's frame etc.

When the engine is cold, jack up the car and use a large rubber mallet and beat the heck out of the various exhaust parts such as converters, muffler etc. You may find that something inside the muffler or catalyst is loose. Also look closely at all the exhaust heat shields for broken welds or foreign material.
