You can try removing the positive cable for a few minute,s and see if it will reset,if not you may need to take it to a mechanic,or dealer to fix this problem.

Same thing happened to my 2003 V6 explorer a while back. Took it to my reliable tranny guy who stated it was an electronic part mounted on the transmission. Fix took about 20 minutes. Stay away from the big boys who advertise all over the tube. They will probably say you are in need of a new tranny.
