I need to know how to reset the check engine light. Can you tell me what to do? I know what is wrong, but can't figure out how to clear the codes.

well have you disconnected the negative cable for one mississippi, two mississippi, then replaced it only to find the trouble codes are stored on an EPROM (electronically programmable read only memory)....well here's an answer---actually fix what the thing is bitchin' about....then will go off!

It may take several driving cycles before the light goes off after the repair is made.

If you sure what the problem is, replace the part, bring the car to autozone and they will erase the code.
