Couple of things to check: 1. Check the fuse that controls the fuel pump, if the fuse is intact, turn the ignition to ACC, and listen to the rear of the truck- you should hear the fuel pump start- if not, go to #2. 2. Given that you ran out of gas, you may have inadvertently killed the fuel pump- if this is the case, you'll need a new one. 3. If the fuel pump has in fact died, you should also change the fuel filter

try this, put your key in ignition, turn key to #2 keep it there for 5 seconds, repeat for 3 times, then on the 4th time try to start the suv. Good luck
