Car batter

I put a brand new alternator and a batter in my 05
Ford explorer it's  6 cylinder it's a xlt my Gage is
showing in the middle at all times is that where it's
suppose to be at even with a used battery that's
where it was showing also until the alternator went
out on me

Yes, sounds like that is where it should be. If you have a digital multi meter, set it on DCV and 00.000 scale. With the vehicle running check the voltage at the battery, it should be 13.8 to 14.7 DCV if the charging system is working. Or just stop at a auto parts store and have the charging system checked.
