Gas smell on oil dipstick and losing gas

I have a 2005 ford explorer that is losing gas and
the oil dipstick smells like gas. Any ideas?

I ran out of oil on 2005 for expedition .what do y'all recommend it start but throws a lot of white smoke ??? its reading misfire??
