04 3.9l engine swap

Asked by Micah Aug 04, 2017 at 11:52 PM about the 2004 Ford Mustang Coupe RWD

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2004 3.9L V6 mustang with a bad engine.
Perfect body and interior. Can I put a GT motor in
it? Will it bolt right up? If not is there any others
that will besides the normal 3.9L?

No. You have to change a lot. The computer has to be changed and if you don’t want to pay to re sync your keys you have to find a computer with a matching key set, the 4.6 requires a different brake set up you will need hydro boost, you will need a t45 transmission as well as a beefier rear end, also you will need a year match on the motor to body so the harness will connect. So the answer is simply no
