86 mustang crate engine 5.0 swapped with 67 mustang orig289 what changes must be done

What changes should I do when I have the rear
end and transmission for the 289 can I add the 86
model 5.0 with out having to replace not so many
parts?

You don't need to change the rear axle. If you do this swap install a modern 5 speed transmission. Be aware that this swap will reduce your cars value considerably. Why not rebuild the original engine?

Thanks!! I’m well aware it’s only temporary. my plan is to rebuild the original engine with a thumpr or stroker, so for now I’m going to buy a crate just to keep the mustang going.
