Why does my 88 mustang have heat blowing back into my car when I'm driving? It's like the faster I go the more I can feel it.. But when I stop it don't feel it..

a vaccume controled heater door is moving to heat on position when throttle is open lowering the vaccume needed to hold it closed

That, or you have a hole in your firewall allowing engine heat too come in

It's coming out of my vents tho

In that case, you have a bad heater duct vent.

my 1988 mustang gt convertible usually runs great but sometimes it idles up and down and will even die. the problem stops when i accelerate but will continue at cruising speed. sometimes it does not happen for days, then when it happens it can last for a few seconds up to a day. i have replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter and egr valve. it feels like a vacuum issue, but i do not think a vacuum issue would come and go like this. i am lost! please help 3 Answers
