Problem with my 07 jetta

Asked by Dudleyh82 May 30, 2020 at 11:14 PM about the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg Edition

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My jetta I bought the other day and was driving it
home when it made some kind of noise under the
hood. The mass air flow was unplugged because it
wouldn't run with it plugged in at all. I pull over kill it
and get out of the car. A few mins later I get back
into the car to move it to the shade and after
starting the motor white smoke goes out from
under the hood so much you could hardly see
threw it. After letting it set a while I drove it back
home and it did the same thing at home. I kill it and
start back and the smoke rolls. The muffler is
broke someplace up close to the motor and this
time I see a plug of some kind open on the end of
my motor and a small amount of oil had came out.
It never got hot and ran good the whole time. I
never had this happen before any help will be great
I'm stuck on this one?

White smoke like a smoke screen is a clear indication you are burning coolant. Usually that means head gasket time. Usua;;y that runs you around $1K for parts and labor. You'll also want to the exhaust fixed and look at replacing the MAF. Good Luck on your new purchase.
