jerking from a stop

Car only jerks sometimes after stopping at a light or in traffic but never once it
is moving.

Try this first cheak and replace air filter if necessary add some fuel injector cleaner to gas tank then take vehicle out on road and hit the passing gear a few times this will clean out any gum and carbon build up in engine.
