Replace Original Wheels

Asked by Barry Nov 13, 2012 at 01:13 PM about the 2006 Chrysler Crossfire Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was wondering if there was a recommended size of wheel and tire that could be installed on a Crossfire that would allow tire rotation from front to rear, i.e. having the same size tire on both front and rear postions.

If you do that, you will change the handling characteristics of the car- that is why corvettes and other high hp cars have different size wheels on the back than they do on the front. You would have to change out all the wheels and have all of them be the same size to do that, but you WILL change how the car handles, so be prepared for that- it won't handle as well.

Or maybe it will handle better? Why must it only go in the direction of making handling worse?
