2006 outback limited

i have a 2006 outback, started to hear a chirping noise from motor area. it has
116,200 miles on it . drives great . new timing belt, water pump and head
gasket. belts seem fine . but noises is when starting off then goes away after a
few mins . curious what it may be ?

Possible bad idler wheel bearing. Did you replace the idler wheels on the timing belt?

It's probably either a stretching new ps/alt belt or an a/c idler pulley. Tighten the former first, then try to listen to lower a/c idler with a LONG screwdriver. Both are very common. Make sure new ps/alt belt isn't too long! If replacing the idler doesn't work THEN investigate under the t-0belt cover for a worn idler or sloppy tensioner. But I'll bet it's external....
i haven't checked the idler pulley yet . im going to a local subaru dealer on the weekend for a trans fluid change. the used car dealer i got the car from did all the other work before i bought it . I'll keep you gentlemen informed , tk you again for the input
I had an internal idler go out, it blew all the bearings out!
