07 Ford Explorer

Asked by NoonieB12 Nov 09, 2019 at 07:34 PM about the 2007 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drive a 07 Ford Explorer and I’ve had it for over a
year now. A few weeks after I got it, my check
engine light came on and it’s been on ever since. It
keeps saying that my EGR valve needs to be
replaced and we’ve done that 3 times now.
Recently, my truck has started doing this thing
where my oil light and my battery light will appear
on my dashboard and the steering wheel locks up,
the brake petal doesn’t work and it shuts down.
The radio is still on along with the ac unit and my
lights but it won’t drive. I have to wait 30 seconds
to a minute to turn the car back on and then it
drives just fine but it’s only doing this when it feels
like I’m driving a far distance. Any advice on what it
could be?

Wow. I don't know where to tell you to start. So many possibilities. I think your best bet is to work with a reputable shop and start refining and solving the various troubles you are having. Or have you thought of an exorcism or sale of the car?
