What is causing battery drain?

Replaced rear wiper motor that quit working. New one does not work, but drains the battery rapidly..  You can hear
clicking and straining noises....

It must be completing a circuit somewhere. clean the electrical connections.

Disconnect the wiper motor. Wipers have a circuit that keeps them running until they are in the park position. It sounds like your new one is defective.

Have 2003 expedition has new battery an alternator an new cable ends but , let it sit a day an battey drain down . what else could it be ?

The alternater is good something is draining the battery what could it be

I have found that the rear wiper transmission freezes up and stops moving. Many times this leads to the diagnoses of the wiper motor not working. With rear window open, try moving wiper by hand. If does not move freely or easily, needs to be replaced. This will keep the motor from returning to park.

just had this problem on 04 expedition, slow battery drain, could hear a faint click every 45 seconds from inside the hatch, so I opened it up and checked the rear wiper motor. it was hot so I unplugged it. Problem solved, will replace as soon as the part arrives

Y does my 99 expedition radio drain the battery when its not running just sitting there. And the radios hooked up right.
