When looking from the front of the car with the hood opened, the coolant temperature sensor is on the back of the front head which would be on the drivers side of the car.

Can you tell me how to check oil from a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu? My Trasmission Light is on, and its reading is telling me change engine oil soon

There may or may not be a dip stick for checking the transmission, they usually have a plug to pull out now, so it would be best to have a shop check the transmission fluid. There is a dip stick for checking your engine oil, should be right in front when you open the hood. Oil needs to be changed and that message reset.
