2007 Chevy cobalt dashboard going wonky

Asked by Alicia Feb 02, 2019 at 12:39 AM about the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I see that there's alot and i mean alot of
people on here having the same issues with
thier cobalts. So has anybidy found a
definitative answer on how to fix the
problem before i spend too much money
guessing on what it can be? I think that its
really a shame that chevy can own up to the
fact that its obviously a mess up on thier
end and make this a recall and fix the issue
with these cars. I love my car i just want it
fixed

It’s not a safety issue so there won’t be a recall. They’re machines. Things wear out and need fixing. You have no idea whether it’s a mess up on GMs part or not. It could be that you just need a new battery like I did. That’s a maintenance issue, not an engineering issue. You can have your battery load tested to see if it’s still good. If it’s around 5 years old or older just go ahead and replace it. That’s the normal lifespan of a battery. You’re right, they are great cars. I’ve had mine for almost ten years and have 165,000 miles on it. Still love driving it.
