2007 cobalt with no crank and no single to the starter
i replaced the lower steering shaft and took it for a road test.i parked it in my bay and went back to move it and it would not start or crank this car has a manual trans

There is a ground wire from the battery to the frame....also from the block to the frame. Both of these connections must be in place if the power is going to get thru. The car is completely dead?..after taking a look at your ground wires, (especially corrosion on the battery) you'll find the culprit.
First check the fuses. There's a couple of maxi fuse and a couple of regular sized fuses in the engine compartment fuse box. If they're all good, check the electrical connector at the bottom on the steering column. If it's plugged in, disconnect and reconnect a few times to clean the contacts. Also check the switch behind the clutch pedal.
...in fact, back up a few, and disassemble and clean the battery terminals. The positive has a cluster. Clean each of the terminals with a brass brush and some spray electronics cleaner, then re-assemble. POWER has to get thru, LOTS OF AMPS. re-assemble and set your clock .
i checked it for coads and i got lost coummaction with the ecm
the coads are u2105 lost communcation with engine control system and u2100 controller area network lost communcation
The only thing I found searching the U2105 code had to do with the automatic 4L30-E transmission.

,,,phooey, these electronics, I tell ya- nothing can replace good old fashioned horse-sense!
2.2 Ecotec with a manual tranny - same as my Grand Am. Go with my original thought of checking fuses and connections.
