car gets really loud, like a winding noise, when going over 25mph. Shifts and drives ok, just loud. Gas mileage as it should be also.

Is the noise com9ng from the engine area or could it be your cats are sick?

If it sounds like it could be an exhaust noise check the flex connection that connects the exhaust manifold on the engine to the exhaust system. I've had 2 '06s and they have both failed. It's not a cheap part, surprise, surprise, but you'll need a new one. Don't bother with a used one. The labor is about 1.5 hours at a muffler shop.
