No. The 2.4 L came in with the second generation cars in 2009. The top engine in the first gen cars was a 1.8L high compression engine with VVTL which allowed it to rev up to 8500 rpm and produce 180 HP. This engine was detuned for the base, XR 2WD and 4WD
