I was able to access the driver door actuator but for the life of me, how do you
disconnect the linkage to get it out?

I finally realized it was easier to remove the whole assembly as one unit. Two torx screws, from the inside, hold the whole exterior door handle assembly, which is plastic, in place. Be careful or over tightening will strip or break the plastic.
