2007 slow throttle response, and rpm stays up

Asked by Novadave Jan 07, 2012 at 07:07 PM about the 2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD 2 Dr SLE1 Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: General

I just bought a 2007 2500hd w/6.0 and 6sp allison. It has a cold air intake with throttle spacer and 3" into two 2-1/2 " magnaflow and pipes. The throttle response is not crisp but like stretching a rubber band and the rpm does not come back down quick the motor kinda hangs there. Any suggestions for why.

sounds like a vacuum leaks or leakin cold air system , check all connections close , oh allison were only in 6.6 diesel and 7.4 gas . you probably have 6L80 trans which is also very good

Nope sure it is an allison. Have the window sticker. Iwill check for vacum leak.... will this cause the rpm to come down slow also>
