Piston Slap 08 Highlander

Beware these suv's will start having piston slap with 2-3k miles and Toyota will tell you it's normal. If it was normal it would start at mile one. Beware or you will be stuck!!! Gaumhead.

if you are talking about the v6, you are correct. i work at toyota and it is normal operation because it takes some time for the oil to reach the cams and pistons to lubricate them. thats why after the vehicle is warmed up the noise goes away.
