Can ignition be cause for eating up battery charge when car is off?

Asked by jovesash Jul 29, 2015 at 11:30 AM about the 1999 Acura RL 3.5 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ive had the issue where i turn the key and nothing happens...I turn the key a second time
and car turns on Would this be connected to the issue i am presently having where the
battery charge is lost with the car off. Checked alternator good, checked starter good. Got
a new battery and still having same issue. If I pull the battery negative poll off the car
goes on fine next morning.

There is a short somewhere in the system or something is staying on all the time like a interior light or glove box light something like that. To check to see if a light is staying on check vehicle out at night to see if a light is staying on. As far as a short is there anything electrical that you have been having a problem with lately ?
