08 g8 base model door lock

Asked by Knightshadow890 Feb 11, 2017 at 02:28 AM about the 2008 Pontiac G8 Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently purchased a 08 Pontiac G8
from my sister in law. All the buttons on
the center console work except the
door locks. When I push the lock button
I can hear a click from the fuse panel
under the dash. When I hit the unlock
button I don't hear anything. Also the
key fob I received with the car had no
internals. I purchased a new one online
and programed it. All the buttons work
but all the car does is flash the lights, it
doesn't lock or unlock or start the
vehicle. It does however pop the trunk. I
changed out the relay under the dash
related to the door lock but nothing
changed.     I don't know if this will
change anything but it does have a
check engine light on

Yes it does, if the check engine light is on certain functions do not work until you get the problem fixed with the check engine light. So you need to have the vehicle scanned for the trouble codes, and repair accordingly. If you are not capable of doing this, then it would have to be taken to a trusted garage for repair.
