Truck Shakes and Engine is Loud

I have a 2007 Honda Pilot and all of a sudden as I turned into a parking space my
truck started shaking and the engine was running loudly.  I turned the car off for about
an hour and left.  The check engine light popped on started blinking on and off.  I was
told that I had to shut it off because I maybe doing more damage to the engine.  I
checked under the hood and the cover on top of the engine is barely on.  Is this the
issue or is it something more?

Get the cover back on put back the oil you lost start and see if it runs smooth then go from there m
