Question type: Maintenance & Repair

need some new low light bulbs for my car and keep ending up with more and more questions as im searching for bulbs. first of all, what does hyb mean? also when i went to a shop they told me a single replacement bulb would cost $100 but on amazon i can find some that cost as low as $25 for two. should i be suspicious?

100

HYB is a code used in Xenon headlamps. I wouldn't put much thought into it, most likely someone has put an aftermarket light kit in your 2000 Acura before your ownership and it's now creating an issue for you to find replacements. Amazon is fine, they're all aftermarket bulbs and can be interchanged just as long as the new bulb is HYB followed by whatever bulb size you have. The shop is trying to make a quick $150 off you, don't do it.
