Question type: General

I have owned a few 1980's vettes,and now I finally got a nice 2002 corvette
convertible. This may sound a bit retarded, but, when I have the top in the up,closed
position, the curtain that is attached with elastic stretch cords seems to always rest on
the very top of the rear deck behind the seats.I do not want this because with the
windows open, the airflow tends to lift up that black curtain and make it flap all over the
place behind the seats. Before I tear out that curtain with a razor knife, please give me a
way to avoid doing this and perhaps somehow place it elsewhere.I have been
unsuccessful when i'm in the process of closing the top from open,to be able to
somehow avoid that curtain from resting on the top of my deck behind the seats.

So,2002 owners, tell me EXACTLY how to solve this problem. It is probably something
very simple, but I cannot figure it out!tell me soon before I get the razor knife out!I really
see no good need for that curtain anyway!

check to see if there are elastic ties that connect to grommets in your compartment, if so just undo the elastic from around the grommets. there should be an integrated storage area for that curtain.

Sounds like it would be correct, but no.You must not own a 2002 Corvette. There is no grommets. The elastic rubber goes from the top edge of the curtain to deep inside the curtain compartment. The end has no elastic, grommets or anything else.I will have to stop a 2002 Corvette owner this summer and ask him. Some dealers do not even know the answers, all they want to do is sell cars.If it does not give me satisfaction,I will simply cut the entire curtain out with a razor knife. All it really does is hide the rear trunk compartment visually from the cockpit of the car, which is really not important to me.Just like the 1980 models, there was no divider curtain, just a top curtain that you pulled forward covering the top of the rear compartment horzontal, not vertically.
