Headlights malfuntioning

I drive an 01 Acura TL with HID bulbs. The
headlights are being temperamental. I'll switch
them on and only the driver side turns on. When I
switch them off and then on again the passenger
side will work but not the driver. When I switch it
off and on again once more they both go out. If I sit
with the car running for a few minutes while the
lights are in the off position and then switch them
back on they both miraculously come on. Then
when I drive it the passenger side goes off while
driving.
