2007 grand marquis i have no heat only blows cold air

my a/c works, but i have no heat or defrosters. When I need heat i only get cold air

Does your temp gauge bonce around or stay flat to one point of the scale as well when you try to run the heater?

No/ Now I am getting hot air when the air condition is on. but this only happens once and while?

Hmmm could be a sensor in the AC unit control. Also if havn't checked the AC coolant you may have a need to have it serviced an recharged.
