trunk fills with dust on dirt road

In the trunk there are 2 plastic vents, one on each side, under the carpet side panel. We removed those and lined them with plastic and put them back in. That took care of the dust issue but it was recommended when closing the trunk to have a window or two cracked open. Like i said, it was recommended but it is way better than having dust and dirt in the car.
