Check engine light and tcs light both on

Asked by Nfrost76 Nov 25, 2016 at 12:00 AM about the 2003 Acura TL 3.2 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 Acura tl with 228,000 plus
miles. Had transmission relaced with a used
one that had 98,000 miles. My check engine
light is on and the red light comes on
intermittently and stays in until I shut car off.
Transmission is also slipping. Could this
cause the tcs light to come on

You have a bad coil pack. With the car stopped and in park, I would pull each plug and see if the the engine runs rougher or smoother. You will end up finding that when you unplug one plug nothing happens. You have now found the bad coil pack. Replace the coil pack and you should be good to go. Had the same problem with my wife's 2002 Acura TL
