have a 1997 Subaru Legacy after getting the brakes done it doesn't want to turn over what problem is it

Check battery voltage or jump it. Brakes have nothing to do with it not starting up

Check security system. If security system ok, try jumping the starter solenoid, if it cranks, che j the starter relay

OE brass battery clamps may have rotted by now, too. Replace with cheap new one if necessary. Also note that starter solenoid copper contacts have been known to wear out on these old 2.2s. Requires removing starter/solenoid and loading in the new ($15) contacts. Weird, but true!
