I have a 2005 9-3 Aero convertible. The signal lights are not working correctly, and randomly turn themselves on and off.

Asked by kpshop3 Jun 18, 2015 at 09:34 PM about the 2005 Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I first start the car the right signal comes on even though the switch/lever is in the
neutral position.  When I move it to the left turn position the right turn signal turns off and
sometimes the left one turns on and sometimes not.  In order for all signals to be off, I
have to hold the lever between neutral(resting)position and the left turn position.  I am on
a fixed budget and have no idea what the problem might be.

This is the issue, unforunatley it is expensive part from parts store,so try to find it used or cheaper online at ebay or amazon the price at parts store is over 300 dollars,it is the stalk switch in the steering column that is bad.

Thank you for your assistance. I will try to find one in a junk yard first, and order a new one as a last resort.
