the service light just came on my 2005 Saab Aero convertible with 29600 miles. What does that mean?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car checks out OK. Oil quality is at 61% and I plan on having it changed soon. Does the service light mean it needs a check up? Do I need to take it to a Saab specialist or can any mechanic check the car?  Thanks!

Go to your local auto parts store (advance or auto zone, ect) and have them ready the codes. Post codes back on here so we can help your understand what they mean. They will do this for free.

It means you are due for your 30,000 mile service- take it to a good Saab mechanic (do you have one? you better find one)
