Our 2004 9-3 convertible has a hydraulic leak coming from the overhead convertible latch.

Asked by Spearsky Jun 21, 2015 at 11:36 AM about the 2004 Saab 9-3 Arc Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We first thought the leak was rainwater from some strong storms we had been having; but we soon realized it was hydraulic fluid coming from just over the passenger side latch. Then we had trouble operating the top.   A mechanic said we'd need to replace both sides of the entire hydraulic line system from the motor in the trunk - nearly $1600.   Any thoughts?

Yes,replace the line,s or it can be patched, but the mechanic is right, usually if you pacth or just replace one side ,it will make the other side blow out,

Or if you don,t wont to go to that much expenses, remove the motor drive and lines and do it by hand,
