Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2003 93 convertible with noise from driver side rear area.   I muffler was replaced last
winter but is none the less suspect.   However, when I step on the brake the sound stops.
Could a brake part loose?
I had two people look at it and one mechanic thought it was a defective muffler.   Seemed
reasonable until I noticed that when I step on the brake, the noise stops completely.

Really can not say what it is but if the noise goes away when you apply the brakes the brakes are what needs to be looked at.
