02 xk8 transmission fault code

Hi I have a 2002 xk8 that just last year had a
rebuilt transmission because it was going into fail
safe mode and giving a transmission fault code.
The transmission now seams to be working fine
but is still giving me a transmission fault code and
putting g it into restricted performance. Any clue
what could be causing this? Maybe a sensor? I'm
hoping it is nothing major

Typical XK*. Reach under the brake pedal with your foot and pull the brake pedal back. There is a little limit switch that knocks out the Cruise control and the lube get a little sticky sometimes. If really a pita replace the limit switch.
