Fuel gauge quit working

if i run some seafoam thru the tank, is it possible to clean up a fuel sensor for it
to work again, or once they quit replacement is the only answer?

I never seen a mechanic in a bottle fix anything,all I ever seen was more issues,if the sensor is bad it's bad.don't waste time or money.
