How do i check tranny fluid on jaguar 2002 x type

Car in limp mode gear box fault . had to replace oil pan and radiator after previous owner ran over medium. Can get gearbox fault to clear . i think if may have lost tranny fluid and needs filled. Want to do it from home. Any advise will b appreciated!
