2001 X-TYPE 2.5 V6 petrol manual won't select a gear

Asked by SPower Sep 29, 2014 at 08:29 AM about the 2002 Jaguar X-TYPE 2.5L AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi,

No forward or reverse gears can be selected, even with the clutch fully depressed. The clutch
is steady with a consistent pressure, but the gears cannot be selected.

There is an engine warning light which has arrived at the same time, although this may be a
different fault.

has it had atrans rebuild cause it sounds like a loose selector fork

Thanks for the quick answer. Not sure about a rebuild, only had the vehicle for 6 months. Would the selector fork just stop working or would there be an intermittent fault first?
